Despite our location right in the heart of business and industry, more than 27 percent of Mercer County is preserved open space. Our County has 10,000 acres of parklands rich with both passive and active recreation opportunities, along with another 16,000 acres of farms, forests, and meadows. You can hike the Baldpate Mountain, play a round of golf, take a boat out on the lake, and pick your own vegetables, all within the borders of Mercer County.

You can also explore the beauty of Mercer County by hiking. Whether you're feeling adventurous and want to experience variations in elevation at Baldpate Mountain or prefer a peaceful stroll along the boardwalk at The Watershed Institute, Mercer County has something for you. Experience the outdoors by hiking, jogging, or biking your way through the Capital County.

In addition, the region continues to maintain and expand its outstanding and pristine recreation spaces
