Mercer County is rich in history. Here in the Capital County, residents and visitors have the opportunity to visit key Revolutionary War sites such as Princeton Battlefield State Park, pay respects at the 9/11 Memorial in Mercer County Park, and learn about the history of farming in the Garden State at Lee Turkey Farm.

The Capital County is at the heart of the American Revolution. Battlefields, monuments, and important historical sites can be found in every corner of Mercer. For example, Washington Crossing State Park, this place marks where General George Washington led his troops to victory on that fateful Christmas night in 1776.

Mercer County’s mark on the history of our nation didn’t end with the American Revolution. Mercer County continued to influence the American way of life for the next 150 years thanks to companies like the Roebling Iron Works who powered the Industrial Revolution.
