The Bridges & Culverts Unit is responsible for the maintenance of 688 cross-drainage structures within local and county roadways.
The State of New Jersey Bridge Inspection Program is essential to ensure the safety of those Mercer County-maintained bridges and culverts. The inspections determine structure sufficiency ratings, which the department uses to prioritize bridge rehabilitation or replacement projects.
