Established by municipal ordinances, Mercer County's municipal alliances engage residents, local government and law enforcement officials, schools, nonprofit organizations, the faith community, parents, youth, and other allies to prevent alcoholism and drug abuse in communities. These alliances use volunteers to raise awareness and provide programs on the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, misuse, and abuse. Community involvement greatly enhances these prevention and education programs.
