As the primary governmental agency responsible for planning, administration, and coordination of services, the Mercer County Division of Mental Health advocates for the continued enhancement of a robust, client-centered wellness, and recovery-oriented system of care for all residents requiring various levels of mental health care. In conjunction with the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (NJDMHAS), the Division of Mental Health oversees all State-contracted and County-contracted community mental health services to ensure the coordination of a community-based mental health system that is inclusive, collaborative, accessible, and consumer centered. All County funds are awarded via contracts to agencies via the Request for Proposals (RFP) process.
Several divisions within the Department of Human Services receive specific funding that requires the submission of multi-year plans that explain the use of the funding. The most recent Mental Health Plan was published by the Division of Mental Health in July 2015.
