Passport Services
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, we will have
special hours and closures as follows:
Wednesday, November 26: Closing Early at 4:00PM
Thursday, November 27: Closed
Friday, November 28: Closed
Saturday, November 29: Closed
Services will resume on Monday, December 1.

Beginning on Monday, February 3, 2025, passport services at Mercer County Connection in Hamilton Township will require an appointment to be made in advance. This requirement is due to an enormous increase in demand for passport services and as a means to efficiently and courteously serve every customer that visits our office.

We will continue to provide passport services in our Trenton Office at 209 South Broad Street, Trenton. In Trenton, appointments are not required but are recommended for guaranteed service. Mercer County Connection Passport Service Guidelines:
PLEASE NOTE: ALL CUSTOMERS ARE REQUIRED TO ARRIVE TO THEIR PASSPORT APPOINTMENT WITH A COMPLETED DS-11 APPLICATION (FILLED OUT IN BLACK INK), ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, AND THE CORRECT FORM OF PAYMENT. FAILURE TO PROVIDE ANY OF THESE ITEMS WILL RESULT IN THE NEED TO RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
Requirements for First-time U.S. Passport for Adults (Ages 16 and over):
- Completed DS-11 application form: Filled out in black ink or completed online and printed. (DO NOT SIGN.) Passport applications are available for pick-up at Mercer County Connection.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship: Certified U.S. birth certificate (must include a raised seal and if not both, at least one parent's name), Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Certificate of Naturalization, or Certificate of Citizenship.
- Government-issued photo ID: A valid driver's license or State ID card. If you are under 18 and do not have a government-issued photo ID, you must be accompanied by a parent (listed on your birth certificate) who has a valid government-issued ID or a valid U.S. passport.
- Check or Money Order for Passport Fees: Personal check, cashier's check, certified check, traveler's check or money order. (Made payable to the U.S. Department of State.)
Requirements for First-time U.S. Passport for Children (Under 16 years of age):
- Completed DS-11 application form: Filled out in black ink or completed online and printed. (DO NOT SIGN.) Passport applications are available for pick-up at Mercer County Connection.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship: Certified U.S. birth certificate (must include a raised seal and if not both, at least one parent's name), Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Certificate of Naturalization, or Certificate of Citizenship.
- Parental Presence: All parents or legal guardians listed on a child's birth certificate are required to be present, in person, to sign the application. If one parent is unable to be present, that parent must fill out a "Statement of Consent" form (DS-3053), have the form notarized, and provide copies of both the front and back of their state-issued ID. These documents should be submitted together with the DS-11 application. (The DS-3053 form is available for pick-up at Mercer County Connection.)
- Parental ID: Parents must provide their own valid government-issued ID or a valid U.S. passport to verify their identity.
- Check or Money Order for Passport Fees: Personal check, cashier's check, certified check, traveler's check or money order. (Made payable to the U.S. Department of State.)
Requirements for U.S. Passport Renewal for Adults (Ages 16 and over):

- Old U.S. Passport: Serves as primary proof of your U.S. citizenship.
- Parental Presence: All parents or legal guardians listed on a child's birth certificate are required to be present, in person, to sign the application. If one parent is unable to be present, that parent must fill out a "Statement of Consent" form (DS-3053), have the form notarized, and provide copies of both the front and back of their state-issued ID. You can also renew your passport by mail using the "U.S. Passport Renewal" application (form DS-82). *

Passport photos are available on-site and can be paid with a separate check or money order made payable to the "Mercer County Clerk".
Passport Photos Fees:

All passport applications require a $35 processing fee, which can be paid with a separate check or money order made payable to the "Mercer County Clerk". All processing and photo fees can be combined into a single check or money order. *
Passport Applications & Other Forms:
The following forms have been updated by the Dept of State. *
DS-11 - Standard application for first-time U.S. passports, for all children passports (renewal included), for adult passports that have expired over five (5) years, and for passports that are lost or stolen and/or damaged.
DS-82 - Standard application for adult U.S. passport renewals within five (5) years of expiration. This application must be completed and sent in the mail by the customer.
DS-3053 - This form is used to obtain written consent from one or both legal parents or guardians, when they are unable to personally sign a child's passport application.
DS-64 - This form is used to report a lost or stolen U.S. passport.
