Mercer County has been asked whether the commercial airline operating at Trenton-Mercer Airport utilizes any Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, which have recently been banned by the Federal Aviation Administration due to mechanical issues. The commercial carrier at Trenton-Mercer Airport does not have that aircraft in its fleet, and the airport is not directly affected by the federally imposed grounding of the Boeing 737 Max 8.

On June 12 and 13, the agency conducted a countywide aerial larvicide application via helicopter to reduce larval mosquito habitats. The agency will also be conducting truck-mounted adulticide applications over the course of the next several days.

All mosquitoes require water to complete their life-cycle.  During optimal summer weather conditions, mosquitoes can develop from egg to biting adult in seven days.  Standing water can attract mosquitoes, so please remember to dispose of any containers that may collect water in your yard.
