Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County will sponsor the 2019 Insect Festival on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Mercer Educational Gardens, 431A Federal City Road, Hopewell Township. The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Admission is free, and on-site parking is available.

Howell Living History Farm will hold its 36th annual Plowing Match on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Eight teams of draft animals from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York are entered in the match, which tests the performance of farmers and their horse teams.

The Mercer County Department of Transportation and Infrastructure will start the replacement of the bridge on Washington Crossing-Pennington Road (County Route 546) over Woolsey Brook in Hopewell Township on Tuesday, Aug. 20. The structure is located between Scotch Road and Bear Tavern Road.
