The Mercer County Master Plan was adopted by the Mercer County Planning Board on September 8, 2010. The Mercer County Master Plan consists of a parent document and four elements, each of which had been independently updated on a periodic basis since 1986. In addition to the Framework (parent document), the Master Plan elements include: Farmland Preservation, Mobility (formerly the Highways Plan), Historic Preservation, and Open Space. The Historic Preservation Plan was readopted in its entirety without revisions.

A paper copy of the Mercer County Master Plan is available at all Mercer County public libraries. In addition to the downloadable versions here, an electronic version of the Master Plan is available on CD upon request for $5.
