Mercer County has been asked whether the commercial airline operating at Trenton-Mercer Airport utilizes any Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, which have recently been banned by the Federal Aviation Administration due to mechanical issues. The commercial carrier at Trenton-Mercer Airport does not have that aircraft in its fleet, and the airport is not directly affected by the federally imposed grounding of the Boeing 737 Max 8.

The County of Mercer, through a federally funded Local Capital Project Delivery (LCPD) Program administered by Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), has, in close cooperation with New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Local Aid District 3, undertaken the replacement of Bridge MC#140.9 (NJDOT #1100-055) to address structural deficiencies to provide a safe and efficient bridge crossing in conformance with current AASHTO, NJDOT, and Mercer County design standards and policies. The bridge carries a critical transportation connection in the City of Trenton.
