The Mercer County Board of Social Services located at 200 Woolverton Street, Trenton, NJ will be renovating the customer service front end lobby on Friday February 16, 2018 through Tuesday February 20, 2018. During this renovation Mercer County Board of Social Services will provide limited services which will include emergency services and scheduled appointments only. We will resume full customer services on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.

Mercer County to host document shredding event Feb. 24

TRENTON, N.J.—The Mercer County Improvement Authority will host a document shredding event for County residents on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parking Lot 4 at 651 South Broad St., across from the County Administration Building in Trenton. Electronics recycling will not take place at this event, which will be held rain or shine.

While no registration is necessary, please note that the event is open to Mercer County residents only, and attendees will need to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license. Up to eight boxes or bags of paper may be discarded. No household chemicals, no commercial businesses.

The MCIA’s next household hazardous waste collection and electronics recycling will take place Saturday, April 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dempster Fire Training School, 350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrence. For more information, individuals should call (609) 278-8086 or visit
