Post Date:10/27/2017 3:08 PM
TRENTON, N.J.—Trenton-Mercer Airport Manager Melinda Montgomery, A.A.E., was selected recently by the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Aviation Association as the recipient of the 2017 NJAA Excellence in Aviation Award, and honored at a luncheon Oct. 19 at the Jasna Polana Golf and Country Club in Princeton.

In congratulating Ms. Montgomery, Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes said, “Your passion for aviation and steadfast dedication to ensuring the success of Trenton-Mercer Airport has earned you this prestigious honor. Achievements under your leadership including facility improvements and the addition of two new airlines providing scheduled commercial service have transformed TTN into a first-rate airport that meets the needs of commercial, private and corporate customers while serving as an economic engine for our region, and I thank you for your tireless efforts to make Trenton-Mercer Airport an important regional asset of which Mercer County can be proud.”

Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN), located in Ewing, N.J., right off I-95, has been providing convenient air transit to the Mercer County region for over 80 years. One of only three commercial airports in New Jersey, TTN averages approximately 85,000 take-offs and landings each year and contributes thousands of jobs to the local economy.

TTN's rich history spans the decades from early aviation to its preeminent role in the production of the WWII Avenger Torpedo Bomber, and today as home to commercial air carrier service connecting Mercer County to hundreds of destinations. The aviation units of numerous Fortune 500 companies, a corporate terminal and repair base, the U.S. Customs Service, the New Jersey State Police, and the New Jersey National Guard are also located at the airport.
